COVID-19 Policy

Store update and new protocol:

We are excited to return to providing routine/preventative exams and full optical services, in addition to the current urgent care services being offered. At this time, we are calling to reschedule all previously canceled appointments and are accepting all exam requests. Please be advised that we are taking recommended precautions set by the CDC, MN Dept of Health, MN Board of Optometry, and other public health officials to protect all our patients and our staff and we ask you to please call and ask if you have any questions or concerns.

New Hours:

  • Mon – Thurs 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday* 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (*Open 1st and 3rd Saturdays each month)

Exam Scheduling:

  • Demographics and insurance info will be taken over the phone
    • Eligibility will be verified before appointment date
    • We will do our best to screen and schedule appointments, with all medically necessary/urgent visits taking priority
  • Patients will be notified of Plymouth Vision Center’s Protocol, including the following:
    • Screening questions (below) will be asked over the phone when scheduling and on date of the exam before entering the store:
        • Fever
        • Cough
        • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
        • Chills
        • Repeated shaking with chills
        • Muscle pain
        • Headache
        • Sore throat
        • Any new loss of taste or smell
        • Contact with positive or suspected COVID-19 patients
        • History of air travel in past 14 days
        • Temperature upon arrival to the clinic. (CDC defines a fever as a temperature at or above 100.4)
      • If any of these symptoms occur before the appointment – we ask the patient to please call to reschedule
    • All patients/customers are asked to wear a mask or face covering of some type, when entering the store
      • if forgotten – one will be provided
      • if refuses to wear, they will be asked to leave – per MN Dept of Health requirements for doctors to see patients and for protection of other patients and staff
    • One patient per exam room, unless under age 18, one parent/guardian is allowed – no one else is allowed in the store – unless purchasing eyewear and an optician is available
    • Notify patient to call when they arrive at the store

Day of Exam:

  • Please arrive a few minutes early and call us at 763-559-4669 when parked out front
  • Patient will be screened for symptoms over the phone
  • Patient will be asked if they have their mask and reminded that only one person is allowed in the exam room
  • Patient will be waved into the store by doctor or staff
  • Upon entering, the doctor will scan their temperature with a non-contact thermometer and escort them to the exam room to begin the exam
    • If temperature exceeds 100.4 degrees, the patient will be asked to return to their vehicle and the doctor will call them to discuss further steps
  • Upon completion of the exam, the patient will be escorted out to a dispensing table if looking for glasses or the front desk to collect any necessary copays or to order contact lenses.
    • Patients shall be offered a printed copy of their prescriptions and receipts – or they may also elect to have it sent to them electronically or via mail
  • After the patient exits – all equipment, instruments, and exam products will be sanitized and prepared for the next patient, according to all CDC and state requirements and recommendations


Eyeglass Sales and Adjustments:

  • Please call us at 763-559-4669 before entering the store
  • All customers are required to wear a mask while in the store
  • There will be a limit of up to 3 customers allowed in the store at one time
  • If available, an Optician will allow you into the store to help purchase eyewear, make adjustments, or dispense your glasses in person
  • To avoid possible long waits, please call in advance, and we will try to schedule you for a specified time frame

Contact Lens:

  • We are currently offering free delivery with a 2 box minimum order
  • Please call to order and we would be happy to assist with verifying insurance and billing
  • Curbside delivery is available

Repairs and other Services:

  • Please contact us to discuss the issue, possible costs, and estimated time to repair
  • May be asked to drop-off the frame and return to pick-up once issue is resolved
